陈爱民 ，女，重庆市人。
   1982年毕业于四川大学政治经济学系。
   1983年赴美国留学。
   1990年8月获得宾夕法尼亚州立大学经济学博士学位。
   1990-1991年在美国科盖特大学(Colgate University)经济系担任助理教授。
   1991-2005年在美国印第安纳州立大学(Indiana State University)经济系担任助理教授、副教授、教授，为该校文理学院(文科社会科学和理科自然科学学院)2004-2005年度杰出教授(为该校唯一的少数族裔杰出教授)。
    陈爱民教授2000-2001年曾任中国留美经济学会会长，是该学会自1985年成立以来唯一的女会长；2001年任中国旅美社会科学教授学会常务副会长；在美期间曾担任印第安纳州立大学中国问题委员会主席，印第安纳州立大学文理学院教授委员会主席，中国留美经济学会学术出版委员会主席等职务。从2001年以来陈教授还担任了由英国Ashgate出版社出版的《中国经济系列丛书》的两位系列主编之一；现为三种国际英文学术期刊(China Economic Review、Review of Applied Economics及Review of Development and Cooperation)的编委和10余种英文学术期刊匿名审稿人。
    通过四川大学向海内外公开招聘副校长，陈爱民教授从2005年3月1日起出任四川大学副校长、特聘教授、博士生导师，是著名经济学家、四川省经济学会副会长、四川省知识分子联合会副会长、四川省政协教育委员会主任。

About the President
    Dr. Aimin Chen, President of Sichuan University Jinjiang College and Vice President of Sichuan University through a widely-publicized global search in 2005, is an internationally well-known economist, a doctoral advisor at Sichuan University, and was the 2005 Distinguished Professor of the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University. Dr. Chen has been President of the Chinese Economists Society and the Executive Vice President of the Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences in the United States. She is now Deputy Director of the Education Commission of Sichuan People’s Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of Sichuan Economists Association, and Deputy Director of Sichuan Friendship Association of the Intellectuals.
